Hello lovely readers, welcome to Creatively Linked! It has been a long time since my last post, and its defiinitly been a crazy few years for everyone, but I am back! I am working on some new things for Creatively Linked and trying to get back into the swing of it. If you are new here, it is a place where I spotlight women from around the world and share their creative talents and stories. I am super excited about this spotlight as Kayla is a dear friend of mine and she is killing it in the personal training and boxing world. Kayla is full of jokes, extremely talented and she has a heart of gold. I can’t forget to mention she is beyond beautiful! Enjoy her interview!

Kayla currently is a performance coach at Pro Edge Boxing & MMA in Phoenix, AZ. She is the only female trainer at Pro Edge which says a lot, she is dominating in a male industry. Kayla also has a Bachelors’s degree in Exercise and Wellness from ASU, she definitely knows her stuff! When speaking with Kayla about her talent she stated “I enjoy helping people realize what they are capable of. Helping people puts a smile on my face. By showing them a positive attitude and mindset you can conquer any task you want. “ She is an awesome trainer, something cool is she also trains children in boxing as well. If you are looking for a boxing trainer for yourself or your children –she is your gal! I have known Kayla for about 5 years now and she always has a way of making everyone smile even if you are in a bad mood. Every single time I have gone into the gym Kayla always has greeted me with a ton of positive energy and a smile. She is the type of person we need more of in this world.

Something new I learned about her during this interview was when she was young she actually wanted to be a police officer. The crazy thing is, I can totally see her doing that but… I am super glad she decided to go the personal training/boxing route because if not I would have not met her and I love this girl! Kayla is one of the hardest-working women I know! She is always working, training, coordinating events and finds time to hang out with friends. That is something super hard to come by and I admire her work ethic so much! During the interview I asked her what her fears were regarding what she does, she was very honest and vulnerable and I am so grateful that she was able to open up about it. She stated “practicing what I preach. I realized I couldn’t be the person telling people to be positive and have a negative attitude all the time. See the good in any situation and continue to take steps forward, not backward.” I can honestly say Kayla lives by this every day, She is super positive, always has a smile on her face, and will make you laugh in less than a minute. Love you, Kayla!
One of Kayla’s current goals is “to make a difference in as many people’s lives as I can. Either through inspiration, positivity, or fitness related I love to make people smile and accomplish things they didn’t think they could.” Kayla, you are definitely doing this every day so keep achieving your goals girl! I look forward to seeing what the future holds for you! One of my favorite questions to ask all the women I feature is “if you could go back in time and speak to yourself when you were a child, what would you tell yourself and or what advice would you give?” Kayla answered “Be patient. Be patient with yourself and with others it will take you further than you realize.” This is such good advice Kayla, patience is so powerful at any stage of life. Having patience with yourself as a child is crucial, and since we cannot go back in time all we can do is treat the children around us with the patience we wish we gave ourselves growing up.
